Some fresh mango wood had arrived and one of the year 10 girls decided to try a wet turn. The wood was kept in a plastic bag to stop it drying out when off the lathe. We also sprayed it to keep it damp. The wood developed some lovely spalted effects during this process.

Brazing a hat rack with horse shoes and a little recycling.
Student learn to to operate the oxyacetylene from year nine. They first do basic brazing exercises the move on to gas welding. this student decided to use the brazing unit to make a rack for her hats and use recycled pallets to get the age and withered look.
