Crafts alive

Crafts alive

Keeping the crafts alive!

Year 10 Small bowl (300mm) with gold leaf
As we progress further into the field of technology more and more emphasis is placed on the development of technology as a subject. This is a wonderful subject and best suited to students who have good analytic and deductive skills. However, there is still the need for students to develop good practical skills that they will be able to apply during the rest of their lives. As teachers we need to stimulate ours students to enjoy our classes and create a 'want' to be in them, to learn the skills that they can apply to other areas of their lives, whether that be professionally or as an art form or hobby. The idea of my blog is to find ideas that students will enjoy doing as projects and finding ideas from all the crafts people out there that can help stimulates their creative senses. If you have any good ideas or work to share, feel free to add to this blog, and together we can help encourage each other to keep the crafts alive.
